My clients were in grief from having lost their sweet Clarence just days before I spoke with them. He was a rescued Pitbull who they loved for 12 years. Choosing to go the holistic route in treatment of a growth on his leg, they were concerned about choices that they had made, and whether they could have done anything else for him.
Frances: Hi Clarence, how are you now that you have crossed over?
Clarence: I’m adjusting to my new freedom. My spirit is no longer held back by my heavy body. It was my time, and I am so thankful to my mom and dad for all they did for me, both during my lifetime with them and their decisions in my care. They did the most humane treatments, never bowing to the harshness of what could have been my last years. I have met so many other animals here that had to go through the medical versions of treatment, and they do have a harder time understanding why it was necessary. They do know it was their mom and dad who made the choices they thought were best. I know my mom and dad loved me so much they didn’t want me to go through that. I appreciate their approach so much. Please let them know I hear them, their thoughts and prayers for me. I know it is hard that my body is no longer there beside them, but my spirit is as long as they choose for me to be near them. All they have to do is think of me and I will be there. My life with them was a wonderful experience – the best a dog could have ever asked for. Please let them know they did everything right and in the right order. Nothing they did or didn’t do would have changed the outcome as it was my time to go. We have such a short time on this planet that we pack a lot of love and adventure for ourselves and the humans who care for us. Nothing is taken for granted – even the experience of rescue is meant as a lesson for the rescuer and the one who is rescued. One’s heart can be opened so much more than we can ever dream and know that my spirit will always be carried in your heart. From my heart to your heart – I will love you forever. Be kind to yourself in your grief and know that I am at peace.
Frances: Thank you, Clarence for your beautiful message for your mom and dad.
Clarence: Thank you for giving us animals the opportunity to share our thoughts and for the last words of wisdom.
Frances: My pleasure, Clarence. I will be speaking with Mom and Dad soon. Bye for now.
Clarence: Bye.
