A Perfect Goodbye

I have been blessed to do my animal communication readings for over 20 years.  Recently, I received a message from a client whose cat I read for many years ago. This was her first cat, and she came to her as a hungry stray kitten.

My client:  "My female 15-year-old cat, KT had not been feeling well and had had no appetite.  I decided to take her for the first time to see a vet as she was not eating or drinking.  The vet said she has a tumor in her stomach.  She has only been treated using homeopathy, so I will not use any aggressive treatment like surgery or chemotherapy or even pursue additional diagnostic studies.  I would, however, like for you to speak with her.  Many years ago, I was having behavioral issues with her, and you spoke to her -- and no problems since.
Question -- how best to assist her in this, her final performance."

Frances:  Hi KT – I hear you’re not feeling very well. Can you tell me about your thoughts at this stage in your life?

KT:  Thank you for giving me this opportunity to talk with my mom. I love her so very much and want her to know how appreciative I am for the life we have had together. She was the best person for me to have as my mom. She understood my moods and my idiocrasies that only she could understand and tolerate for me. I have not been feeling well for a while, but tried to hide it the best I could. I never wanted to leave Mom’s side but my time on this planet – for my body anyway – is coming close to an end. Food is not settling well, and I do not feel like my body can go on much longer without it. I would rather leave on my own, as long as I am not suffering or causing Mom undue hardship. I do not want the doctor to do anything to keep my body here as it is not part of my life’s plan. Please let Mom know that I will always love her and cherish our time together. I will be around her when she thinks of me and talks to me. I will hear every word she says out loud or in her thoughts, so she knows I am with her even when my physical body is long gone. Please know that I love Mom very much and will not be offended if she brings another stray into her life when the timing is right. I can assist to find her the perfect stray – not to replace me, because of course nobody can do that, but to share Mom’s love that she has to give. I thank you for the opportunity to speak with Mom again for the last time - unless she wants to talk after I cross over – I’m good with that too.

What a perfect goodbye story for KT and her mom. (Unless of course, she chooses to speak with Mom from the other side.)

Our Furry Kids have Sensitivities

A recent client was concerned about her 2-year-old Golden doodle who didn’t like to eat.

(Mom says you don’t like to eat, why is that?)  It’s not that I don’t like to eat, I just don’t like how I feel after I eat.  My body reacts to the various foods I am eating.

Many of our foods are labeled with “natural”, “low carbs”, “lite”, “senior formula” – but what does that really mean?  Just because it says “turkey flavor” – how much turkey is really in it?  I am finding more and more fillers and other additives are being added to not just our foods but also our pet foods.

Ingredients are listed based on the quantity in the product.  I ask clients to tell me the first five ingredients in the foods, treats and any other items or even prescriptions they are giving their pets.  I use a pendulum for “yes” or “no” answers and tune in to my guidance asking if this ingredient is good for the pet’s body. Once I am given the answer for the known ingredients they are ingesting, I expand to others they may not have realized (i.e.  the egg that is leftover, the bread from your plate, the roasted chicken that smelled so good).  I ask the pendulum for guidance about all possible proteins, vegetables, fillers such as wheat, rice, barley – even CBD, fish oil and extracts.  Our bodies as well as our pets’ bodies have become sensitive to many common foods and ingredients.

Let me know if I can be of help for you or your pet’s digestion or sensitivities.

I love the month of May – so many flowers are in bloom.  I even updated my hair to have that easy-peasy curly freedom that is in the air.  Of course, along with the flowers what may come are the physical symptoms.  They don’t just affect us, but our pets too.  Their stomachs, like ours, can also be affected by these elements in the air.

Something I like to do with my clients is to review the ingredients in their food.  I find that pets do not eat what their body rejects.  With my client, we review the first five ingredients and I use my pendulum to show me “yes” or “no” when I ask if it is good for the pet’s body.  Their bodies change over time, various brands also change their formulas over time.  Even our bodies go through changes and sensitivities. I do this with my own body if I have a reaction to a meal, listing out as many of the ingredients and muscle testing with the pendulum.

Our pets can take on some of our physical and emotional symptoms.  Worrying so much about them and forgetting about ourselves as with my recent client.

"When mom is upset, I get upset too.  I take on her emotions and physical issues so it’s not so bad for her.  I love her so much.  I don’t want her to have to go through so much."

I know mom would love to have you back to yourself, but there is also the change in your food.  Is that what is contributing to your tummy issues?

"Yes, I don’t like this new food.  It doesn’t feel good in my stomach."

I will check with Mom on the ingredients so we can see how we can improve your physical body functions.  What about your emotions?  How can Mom help you have less stress and anxiety?

"Please ask Mom not to worry about the neighbor.  Tell her she is not in control of her, but she is allowing her to affect her. I would like Mom to do something to create calm in herself, like sitting in a quiet space, closing her eyes and breathing."
(I suggest meditation and yoga.)

"When mom is calm, I will be too. I love Mom and would never be mad at her.  I know she does what she feels is best for me.  I love to go outside and roll in the grass in the sun.  I like to be inside and sit in the sunny spots too.  The sun gives me healing energy and I use that to help mom too."

Is there anything else you want to tell your mom?

"Please tell Mom to take care of herself as well as she does me.  She worries so much about me and in turn, I get worried about her.  Maybe we can somehow stop this cycle?  Start by doing good stuff for you and once we get my tummy set, we can just relax and do what we do like we did before."

Thank you, sweetie.

"Thank you for talking with me and for the good stuff for Mom to do for herself."

Our pets have so much wisdom to share.

A recent client was fostering a 3-year-old very overweight cat.  She was not using the litter box to poo, only to pee.  This was part of our conversation:

Frances:  I understand you don’t go poo in the litter box.  Why is that?

It’s hard to clean up after myself and I don’t like licking the litter off my fur.

Frances: I get it that you are having problems, Is it due to your size?

Yes, I’m fluffier than most cats.

Frances: Yes, but I suspect that it isn’t just fur, correct?

Yeah, I like to eat.  Hey, it’s all I got, you know?

Frances:  Well, maybe you can play around a bit to work it off?  Run after a feather on a stick, yarn ball, mice or a fluffy ball?

I suppose so, but I can’t do it alone.

Frances:  I’ll talk with your foster mom about your activity level.  You’re so young and have such a wonderful life ahead of you.

Why do you say a wonderful life?  It hasn’t been all that great so far.

Frances:  Ah, but that is the difference.  Your life ahead will be so much brighter, just waiting for the perfect home for you to present itself.  In the meantime, do you have any requests for your forever home.

Oh, I would love to be in a house with activity, to see people moving about so I can watch them.  I’m not really crazy about dogs or kids, they are too unpredictable, and I don’t trust them.  An older person or couple works too – I like to watch TV with them and hang out in the living area.

Frances:  Do you ever look outside to watch the birds or the critters on the ground?

I do, but since I can’t go outside, what’s the point?

Frances:  Well, there is lots of activity to watch if nobody is home to watch.

Yes, that’s true, I suppose I could do more of that to keep me busy.  I’m a bit bored and I think I eat when I’m bored.

Frances: That’s very common for people too.  We’ll see what we can do to get you more activity and maybe lose that extra fluff.  In the meantime, please use the litter box for your poo too.  It is helpful for you to be consistent and cleaner in order to find your forever home.  That’s important to you, right?

Yes, of course – I want to find a forever home.  I will do my best to poo as you say, in the litter box.

Perhaps this is a reminder for all of us not to overindulge during the holiday season.  Stay safe and enjoy your holidays.  Looking forward to a joyous and prosperous 2023!

Our health and habits are sometimes displayed by our pets – to show us what we are experiencing or what we are doing to ourselves. During a session with two cats, one of them said his mom (my human client) needed to put her feet up and be treated like a princess.  She was someone who needed to be catered to instead of her doing it all herself.  The cat felt sad that he couldn’t do this for his mom.  I later found out from my client that she had hurt her ankle and had to elevate it on a regular basis.

Another session was with a two-month-old puppy who was being fussy with his food and potty habits.  His mom (my human client) was having difficulty sleeping through the night as he was waking her up to go outside at all hours of the night.  She was concerned he had to go potty each time, yet he just wanted to play with the night critters.  During our session we spoke of having consistent feeding times, quantity and quality of the foods, including limiting the treats for good behavior.  I suggested since his trainer was using treats as a praise method, she opts to use his regular kibble instead of the variety of treats.  He is young and his tummy is sensitive to the various types of treats.  His system needs to be trained for eating, exercising and potty times to help his tummy be regular and allow her to hopefully sleep through the night.  A few days later my client realized that not only had she been indulging her puppy with all sorts of treats, but she was also doing the same thing to herself.  This was a big awakening to her as she realized she wasn’t treating herself with healthy options and this could also have been a contributing factor to her lack of a good night’s sleep.  Our pets are our mirrors to help us learn and grow together.

Have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving to you and your furry friends.

Letting Go

Annie is an older cat who had surgery for GI cancer and follow-up chemotherapy treatments.  My client was concerned as the treatments would leave her sick for two weeks followed by a second treatment just a week later.  She was not seeing the benefits of continuing this treatment and wanted to know what Annie wanted her to do.

Frances:  Hi Annie – how are you?

Annie:  Oh, I’m okay, I guess.  I know mom is concerned about me and how I am feeling.  This isn’t easy on either of us.  I know she is doing everything she can to keep me going. Please let her know that I love her very much and appreciate all her efforts to keep me here with her.  I want her to know that it is time for me to stop the treatments and let me go on my own time.  Nothing they do is going to help keep me here forever – we all have to go some time, right?  So let me go when it comes my time, without the treatments so I will be more aware of my surroundings and not be sick from the treatments.  I’m not ready to go yet, but just know when it is my time, there will not be a question unanswered.  You did everything right, you are the best mom I could ever have had and I will always be in your heart.  Please enjoy the time we have left together without being sad or disappointed as we have had a good life together to remember.

Frances:  Thank you, Annie.  I will be speaking with you and mom later today.

Annie:  Ok, thank you for talking with me.

Frances:  My pleasure, Annie.

Frances

Summer is Near - Traveling with Pets?

As things feel like they are returning to normal, at least a new normal, going out and enjoying new adventures are in order.  With the sunny summer travels approaching, it’s so important to remember our furry four-legged friends.  When you take them on your car ride adventures, please consider their safety.  We use seat belts, and they should too for their safety as well.   Like children, sitting on your lap with the car moving, whether you are the driver or the passenger – is not safe if you have to stop short or God forbid, were in an accident.

If you have a smaller size pet, consider the basket type where they can see out the window while being safely strapped in.  There are other strapping devices for larger pets who may sit in the back seat with the window cracked open for their nose to stick out (I just love seeing the wind blowing in their face and the hair blowing back).  Please be careful not to have the window open too much so they don’t fall out.  If your pet rides in the back bed of the truck – please consider harnessing them in with more than a single leash connected to their collar.  (I don’t want to think what can happen should they try to jump out).  Have fun, enjoy the new adventures of this phase for you and your pet’s life.

Spring Cleaning

Spring Cleaning

It’s Spring Time!  Spring clearing and cleaning – where is all this stuff going?  My favorite chair to sit on, under and behind.  Strangers coming in to take things away and fixing stuff.  Why?  Sage and Ollie my two 4-year-old female cats are asking.  Sage is taking a new hiding place on top of the refrigerator – behind the cereal box or on the kitchen countertop behind the paper towel holder - maybe if she can’t see them, they can’t see her? I am going through drawers, closets, and the garage.  The stuff has been collecting for at least the 18 years I have been in my condo.  I am simplifying and releasing.  I have to reassure the cats when things leave, that they (the cats) are staying.  I have been revisiting the emotional attachment to things and as the Marie Kondo method – does it bring me joy?  My home has been my sanctuary for a year now – safe from the outside world of uncertainty.  My cats did not understand why I didn’t leave each day like I used to.  I explained to them that life is changing, and we have to share the dining room chairs (their favorite sleeping spots).  My dining room table holds my work laptop next to my personal laptop.  They had to get used to that and adjust too.

I am an only child and I do enjoy my alone time – but I have come to realize that I am happy wherever I call my home.  I will be beginning a new chapter of my life – March 31st is the last day of my day job.  I will be free to speak with the animals wherever my heart takes me – in my time and space.  It may be April 1st – April Fool’s Day - but I am no fool and I fool nobody.  My time will be free to be all of me.  For me - and for the animals.

For the Love of Animals,

Frances

Does My Health Affect my Pet?

Does My Health Affect my Pet?
Secondhand smoke isn't just bad for humans, but for the animals, as well. One client, a heavy smoker, wanted to know what was wrong with her dog's skin. I told her the smoke and nicotine was adversely affecting her dog. That wasn't enough for her to quit smoking, but she does have the windows wide open, weather permitting.

Chemicals we use in and around our houses are dangerous for us and our pets. One client wanted to know why her dog had a skin rash. He had skin rashes as long as she had him - four years. I asked her about her gardener and what he used on the grass to kill the bugs. She didn't know. I asked her how long she has used this gardener - four or five years. So as long as the dog rolled, walked and played on the grass, the chemicals were on him and when he licked himself, they went into his system.

Animals can pick up on their owner's feelings and emotions, often manifesting their owner's symptoms, in order to alleviate their discomfort, taking on the illnesses themselves. Knowing when the owner is ill and holding the energy for them until they are healed. One client, an 85-year-old woman, had a cat who went blind, prior to her own cataract surgery that was very successful.

Animals hold the energy for us - whether it is for our physical, emotional or spiritual well-being. They come into our lives for more reasons than we consciously know. Our pets are aware of what we are going through from a telepathic level. We may not say out loud that we are worried about paying the bills, but our pets know and take on some of the anxiety from us - and for us.

Consider looking at your own health when your pet is having a health issue. Allergies and skin reactions are no different for us as for the animals. Many people are finding themselves allergic to, or intolerant of, wheat and dairy products. Since our animals reflect us, consider what you feed them. Table scraps including those products should not be given to our pets. Many of my clients, especially after the recent pet food scare, have been much more careful of what foods, brands and types they are feeding their pets and paying attention to how they are reacting.

Some of my clients find the raw food diet, including carrots, apples and green beans, to be a great way to supplement their nutrition. If the pet has a hard time moving their bowels, consider adding a bit of flax seed oil or olive oil to the mix. There are many good prepared raw food products on the market. And, by the way, consider how you are feeding yourself. Remember, your animals are a reflection of you. Stick to real food, rather than processed foods, walk with your dogs to get your exercise and you'll both feel better. Have you noticed overweight people tend to have overweight pets? The animals do not need to graze or snack all day long. They do not need treats as a regular diet. Consider the treats for your pets as you would candy for your kids. Is one candy bar enough? How about just a taste? Consider the nutrition of what you are feeding yourself and your pets. They do not need, nor do they digest well, carbohydrates (i.e. breads, grains). How about our bodies?

Remember, our pet's health reflects our health - be careful what you feed them - they are relying on you for their daily needs
